⭐Steps to convert foreign driver’s license to Vietnam
✔️Offline process:
Step 1: Individuals submit a request to convert their driver’s license according to the form;
Step 2: Pay the fee to convert international driver’s license;
Step 3: Individuals will be photographed directly by the licensing agency and present original documents for verification;
Step 4: The competent authority will carry out the conversion of the driver’s license within 5 days from receiving the application according to regulations (if not converted, the reason will be clearly stated).

Step 1: Access the National Public Service Portal, select the citizen option, select the vehicle and driver option;
Step 2: Choose the driver’s license option;
Step 3: Select the option to convert the driver’s license issued by the Transport Department and select the implementing agency;

Step 5: Log in to the account (or register a new account) to continue;
Step 6: The confirmation of the appointment schedule will be returned, and the driver will bring the ID card or passport and valid documents for verification according to the appointment schedule.
⭐Notes when converting foreign driver’s license to Vietnam
The validity of the Vietnamese driver’s license will be the same as the temporary residence/Visa in Vietnam.
The driver’s license issued after conversion must correspond to the international or national driver’s license that was previously issued.
Prioritize the implementation of international agreements on driver’s licenses of which Vietnam is a member, and if there are different regulations, apply the provisions of the international agreement.
If the international driver’s license is still valid and issued by the competent authority of the countries participating in the 1968 Convention on Road Traffic, the driver can operate the vehicle without converting the driver’s license.
